How Long Do They Last?

Batteries and Attomizers (referred to as "atty"s and "batts") have a lifespan that differs based on the care and maintenence of them as much as the initial model quality. Regular users will generally find a model they like and then purchase spare attys and batts, as like all small electronics, Murphy's Law will guarantee you that yours go out on you while your on an eight hour layover in Miami.

 

A typical Joyetech 510 (Joye 510) E-Cigarette atomizer life is subject to debate, although most users will agree some sort of regular cleaning (a 10 minute coca-cola or vodka bath seems to work well for us) will lengthen the life, avoid the "burned taste" some attys get over time and will remove the tiny particals that are generally believed to shorten the atomixer's life.

 

Batteries (or "batts"), are initially charged for 8 hours and then for four hours per charge after that. Your milage will vary, although most will last 100-200 charges and puff for 180-220 puffs per charge.

 

Cartridges (or "carts") Some users suggest there are 3-5 cigarettes in one prefilled cartridge. Others say 20. Overseas shipments of cartridges can lose potency by leaking e-liquid (nicotine) out of the cartridge and onto the sealed packaging.

Another thing to consider is how often your e-cigarette is "smoked". In other words, as with any liquid exposed to air, it will eventually evaporate.  Casual smokers (1 pack per day) will see cartridges last on average to how they are currently smoking. However, occasional smokers (.5-1.0 packs per day) may find that by the third or fourth day their cartridges have lost their strength and need to be replaced.
